At Wimbledon Day Nursery, we understand the importance of finding the right childcare setting for your child. To make the process easier for you, we encourage parents to apply for nursery placement and join our waiting list as early as possible. This allows us to work with families to secure a spot for their child. Unlike some day nurseries in Wimbledon, we do not charge a fee for joining the waiting list, as we believe this should only apply if we can offer a place. We do ask parents to keep us informed of any changes to their contact details or circumstances so we can efficiently manage the list.
Once you register, your child will be added to our waiting list. We offer places on a first-come, first-served basis, with available spaces going to the families at the top of the list for each age group. If you have more than one child, we give priority to siblings so that we can make it easier for your family to have all your children in the same setting. This helps families to manage both childcare and family arrangements.
Our waiting list is closely monitored, and we regularly update families about their status. In most cases, we are able to confirm placements at least one term before the start date. When a place becomes available, we contact families via email or phone. To ensure a smooth process, we require a response within 3 days. Confirming Your Place
When space is offered and accepted, we provide a starter pack with everything you need to prepare for your child’s nursery journey. This includes a contract, full terms and conditions, and details about your child’s key person. To secure the place, a holding deposit equivalent to one month’s nursery fees will be required.
As part of our Preschool registration process, your child will be assigned a key person who will guide both you and your child through the settling process. This key person acts as your main point of contact which helps to ensure your child feels comfortable and secure. If your child naturally bonds with another team member during settling-in, we are happy to adjust it to best meet their needs. To provide continuity of care, every child also has a secondary key person, or buddy, who will step in when the primary key person is unavailable.
