Funding
We currently offer the three and four year old funding only and this will be applied for via our accounts department in the term after your child turns three providing they are not accessing their entitlement through another setting. At this time you will need to complete an additional contract agreeing to Merton’s terms and conditions in order to be eligible to receive their funding offer.

All 3 and 4 year olds are entitled to 15 hours of early education funding each week for 38 (academic) weeks of the year.

From which Month/Term your child is eligible for the 3+ year old government funded fee:

3 years old by 31 March will be eligible from 1st April (Summer Term)

3 years old by 31 August will be eligible from 1st September (Autumn Term)

3 years old by 31 December will be eligible for from 1st January (Spring Term)

How many weeks per year is a child funded for and for how many hours per week?
The entitlement is for 38 (academic) weeks of the year and for up to 15 early years education hours per week.

How much is the funding and how is it allocated?
For the period of 1st September 2014 to 31st August 2015 the maximum amount of funding a child can receive is £2268.60 per year.

The funding is paid up to a maximum of 15 hours per week whether a child attends 2, 3, 4 or 5 days per week in total. Children attending 1 full day per week can claim up to 10 hours funding only.

The monthly fee is automatically adjusted for the funding entitlement the term after a child has turned 3 years of age. All funding is paid directly to the nursery. Please email our accounts team on wdnaccounts@hotmail.co.uk for monthly fees after funding has been taken into account.

How do Wimbledon Day Nursery account for the government funding in the monthly fees?
The monthly fee is calculated by prorating the annual funding entitlement of 38 weeks over 52 weeks. It is first adjusted against the annual fees for 52 weeks and the new total is then divided into 12 equal payments. An individual breakdown of funded fees can be provided to you on request taking your required sessions into account at wdnaccounts@hotmail.co.uk

Will I need to sign any forms?
Yes you will need to sign a declaration form confirming that your child attends Wimbledon Day Nursery and to declare if they attend any other settings. This form will automatically be given to you at the nursery once your child is eligible for funding - you won’t need to ask for it. Changes to sessions after funding term begins may affect your claim.

What if my child attends another nursery? Will I still receive funding?
Your child will be eligible for funding from Wimbledon Day Nursery and/or from the other provider up to a maximum of 15 hours per week. Please contact our Accounts Department on wdnaccounts@hotmail.co.uk to discuss how the funding will work for you.
